Dear
Friends,
Greetings in Jesus from Panamá, entering the
rainier season!
It is your prayers and finance that provide the content of these
e-Mailer reports. But we want you to know that we also pray for
you from a heart full of gratitude.
We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when
we pray for you,
because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the
love you have for all God’s people
Colossians 1:3-4 (NIV)
Kirk
finished teaching the online course Theology of Children’s
Ministries that we reported on last
edition, including a miraculous testimony from one of his
students. The final group project assignment was to prepare a
presentation that motivate a local church congregation to raise up
an effective kids ministry in their own church and community. A
sample of screengrabs from the various teams’ PowerPoint slides
will have to suffice showing the impact it all had on me. If I
wasn’t already committed to kids ministry, after hearing their
presentations, I would have signed up all over again!
Panamá International
Church (PAINT Church) held
our second annual Missions Conference, which was even better than
the first! As mentioned before, Yvonne joined the Fine Arts team.
With them she organized the Musical Opener complete with parade of
national costumes and flags flying, plus energetic choreography.
It was an excellent start to the weekend.
Next
door in EPIC Kids department, Kirk and team members led their
class studying the need to share the Gospel across five
continents. The kids got to hear testimonies and prayer requests
from real live Panamanian missionaries that their church supports.
And they spent an extended time praying for our missionaries, plus
the needs of people groups around the world.
Thank
you
for continuing to pray for the Amigo Mentor Sunday afternoon Bible
club. In answer to those prayers, God has sent additional caring
mentors who now join with us to love on these precious children.
Keeping with the theme of prayer here, recently we taught from the
Lord’s Prayer, which many of them know by heart! We gave each one
a special copy of the Lord’s Prayer to keep as a reminder, or as a
symbol of prayer from their heart, for those who are less verbal.
Finally, as you can see, we practiced the Lord’s prayer in small
groups. It was a priceless time all together in the presence of
the Lord.
1 As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us
that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored,
just as it was with you…
3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you
[& us] and protect you [& us] from the evil one.
2 Thessalonians 3:1, 3 (NIV)
Thanks for your prayers! Blessings!
