Dear Friends,
Greetings from
Panamá for the
last time, at least for another year or so!
Past ministry report:
At this year’s Oriental
Zone ordination service I had the
privilege of anointing with oil and praying for Pastora Adela
de Giroldi, with whom
we have ministered together since her time as a student in the
AG Bible Institute.
I invite you to review the “Get to Know Panamá’s History”
article on her from
our July
2004 newsletter,
We visited Heart’s Cry
Children’s Ministry special needs orphanage
in Colón and got to love on the little ones. Holding babies is
how Yvonne got
started ministering to kids from difficult places, which then
led her to start Amigo
Mentor Panamá connecting Christians
with kids who need a friend. Her friend, and mentor in orphan
care, Misty
Hedspeth, with husband Matt, are the directors.
Transition “ministry” report, AKA moving…
ugh!
I’ve probably shared my
theology
of moving before—it’s a result of the curse of sin. First
thing Adam & Eve had
to do after eating the forbidden fruit? MOVE out of the
garden! But this time around
I realized that it’s still worse for us these days. They had
much less baggage.
Maybe there’s a sermon illustration in there… later, I’m too
tired from packing
boxes.
Another important part of
this
transition process is saying “see you later,” not “goodbye,”
to various dear
friends:
Our Panamá AG missionary
colleagues, with whom we have served as field moderator.
Our kidsmin MININFAD leaders, with Director Fanny de
Qunizada, who is our replacement
during this year. Please pray for her and all the dedicated
kidsmin leaders in
Panamá.
Our AG General Council National
leadership, with whom we have served as Missionary Vocal Rep.,
graciously
prayed for us at final minister’s meeting, led by Pres. Johnny
Saucedo and
Supervisor Rogelio Quintero.
Supervisor Carlos Rosales is one
of the many enthusiastic pastors & leaders whom we look
forward to working
with again!
Upcoming ministry: ITINERATION
This Saturday 5/4/19 we
fly to Springfield,
MO to see Chloe & Gracie, buy a car, then drive to
Centennial, CO for services
on Mother’s Day; then continue driving to temp missionary
lodging in San Diego (thank
you so much LT!); and then first two weeks of services are in
Fallbrook,
Torrance, Temecula, Lomita, and Ventura.
We look forward to sharing
past testimonies
and future dreams for Panamanian kids becoming agents of
change for their
generation! We still have some open dates for Sundays, many
midweek and always
room for a coffee appointment! Please let us know. The VoIP
telephone # remains
active, but we’ll get new US cell phone numbers next week.
Remember not the former
things,
nor consider the things
of old.
Behold, I am doing a new
thing;
now it springs forth, do
you not
perceive it?
I will make a way in the
wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah
43:18-19 (ESV)
