Dear Friends,
Greetings in Jesus from Panamá,
first-time World Cup participants! Happy to be there, even
when losing… Meme: “Brazil fans when losing 7-1; Panamá fans
when losing 6-1”
Here’s an update on some things the Lord has allowed
us to be a part of recently. You can also see past issues on
"Newsletter" page at jonesjournal.org. This issue includes
updates on our life, ministry, praise, and prayer. And we
have a big prayer request at the end of this issue.
We visited Jehová Justicia Nuestra Church (Jehovah Our Righteousness) pastored by Revda. Elvia de Avila, Kirk’s former Bible School student. Now her adult daughter Angela is kidsmin leader at church and a faithful participant in our monthly seminars.
At a recent kids ministry leaders seminar you can
see how much this group enjoyed getting crafty making Noah’s
ark with colorful popsicle sticks.
Pastor Roy Rhodes and team from Abundant Life Community Church, Alton, IL continue to invest in the work among the Ngobe Indian children of the Panamá highlands. The trip in June focused on installing water pumps and bathroom facilities at the ChildHope School in Soloy.
And as always they spent time loving on the precious kids.
With deep sadness we
report the passing of our Panamá Assemblies of God National
Treasurer Rev. Marcos Jaramillo. He served 30+ years with integrity, a jovial sense of humor,
and an admirable love for his wife and family. Please join
us in praying for Coralia, his children, grandchildren and
congregation at Ministerio
Familiar Cristiano Redención (Redemption
Christian Family Ministry).
We will return to the US for itineration ministry beginning
May 2019. It will be great to see as many of you as we can
to catch up on life, family, ministry and the goodness of
the Lord. Feel free to e-mail (kirk@jonesjournal.org) or call (+1 417-595-4697) to schedule
a visit.
Thanks for your ongoing prayers for Yvonne’s heart.
After the scan this month revealed the aneurysm has
increased to the threshhold requiring surgery, consulting
with the surgeon we decided to do it now. So this next
Wednesday August 22 in Houston Medical Center Yvonne will
have open heart surgery to replace the dilated portion of
the aorta with a dacron graft. The doctor says she can
return to Panamá in a couple weeks. We trust the Lord has
guided us so far and have peace this is His will and timing.
Thank you for your continued prayers for her and our family.
In several church worship services this chorus has
ministered deeply to my heart. May it resonate with yours as
well.
…Your promise still
stands, Great is Your faithfulness, faithfulness
I'm still in Your
hands, This is my confidence, You've never failed me yet
I know the night
won't last, Your Word will come to pass
My heart will sing
Your praise again
Jesus, You're still
enough, Keep me within Your love
My heart will sing
Your praise again…
Do It Again, Elevation
Worship
Yours for Them,
Kirk & Yvonne
